John Porter - Station Manager and DJ
In his own words...
"I got into computers over twenty years ago. My first computer was a 286 system which was very cool at the time, but I knew I wanted more. I started taking apart computers and electronics just to put them back together and I found out I had a natural gift for it. So I got a good education in the field and found many things to learn on my own. I also spent some time when I was younger doing some hacking, but what I did was to expose a company’s vulnerabilities and tell them how to correct them. I used this experience to design my own firewall called NetDragon which is really cool. I also designed systems designed for gaming and I still love games when I have the time. Then I started repairing networks, PC's, and servers. This gained a reputation for me as a consultant and gave me the opportunity to work with data centers, graphic designers, shopping centers, I did radio from time to time in production as well as doing interviews and I found out this is something I really love. These days my main interest is my son the three girls and his mom giving them all I can and keeping them safe. I love them with all my heart."
Ron Edwards - Station DJ
Ron Edwards grew up as an Air Force brat. While he has lived all over the United States, and Japan, he considers himself a native Texan. He graduated in 1984 from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, in Architecture. Ron also studied computer animation and design at The Art Institute of Dallas and graduated with honors in 1992. He has since run his own design business, BigFeet Creations, and been involved with many high profile clients. Some of his work includes the design of the Hilton logo, the Bank of America logo, consulting on the UPS logo, the design of several American Express cards, and many more. Ron is an entrepreneur and technology enthusiast whose current work includes design, illustration, 3d animation, video editing, image retouching, and more. He and his wife Erica reside in Dallas.
Michael Smith - Station Content Manager and DJ
Michael Smith is the newest member to the KBZZRadio team, but he's already made a good name for himself. He's currently a Junior at Texas Wesleyan University, and is majoring in English with a Writing Concentration. He looks forward to Graduate school where he will attempt to obtain a Master's Degree in Emerging Media and Communications from the University of Texas at Dallas. Michael considers himself a fiction writer and storyteller, and he has a love for all things computers and technology. When he's not working on the site, server, or MediaSpin, Michael is either doing homework or has his nose buried in a book. His most notable and made fun of fact is that he has a cat named Mouse.
